Music is a universal language and it’s a fantastic outlet for self-expression. In this course, you are going to learn the basics of music production using a DAW, or a program producers use to create music.

Leading the course is Lora Grigorova, a music artist and DJ based in Malmö. With her blend of electronic, urban, and world music, Lora brings her unique perspective through her music project Super Muñeca. Lora is also the producer manager of the music label Wakan Tanka Records and its artist agency Wakan Tanka Prod, working mainly with world music fusions. Additionally, she is the art director of Congona Festival, the first festival dedicated exclusively to cumbia music of Scandinavia.

  • Duration: 9 in-person sessions over 10 weeks (7th of October – 9th of December) – Attention there will be no class on the 22nd of October.
  • Schedule: Wednesdays 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Address: Östra Farmvägen 14, Malmö, Sweden
  • Materials: You need to bring your laptop with Ableton Live installed and headphones. We will be using Ableton Live. If you don’t have it yet, we recommend downloading the 30-day free trial from Ableton’s website just before the first class, it’s free and perfect for this course! After the trial is finished, you can decide if you would like to purchase an Ableton license or to check other free DAW options. While the concepts we’ll learn apply to any DAW, please note that all technical demonstrations and hands-on guidance will be shown specifically in Ableton Live.
